Joint Health Information Exchange (JHIE) and NDHIN are Connected

This connection utilizes the eHealth Exchange framework, and provides Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), and private partners the opportunity to exchange patient information.  

NDHIN participating healthcare providers can now securely query a patient’s medical history from both DoD and VA facilities. 

NDHIN providers, nurses, and pharmacists can initiate a query of the JHIE through the External Record tab of the patient’s record in the NDHIN clinical portal.
